Most workshops pick a lane. Tyre retailers sell tyres. Mechanics fix cars. Roadworthy places inspect and send you elsewhere. A Grade Tyre & Auto does all three from one unit on Lawrence Drive, which is the whole reason it is worth the drive.
One booking instead of three
Say you are selling a car. It needs a safety certificate. The certificate comes back with two bald tyres and a brake fault. Most people then ring a tyre shop, book a mechanic, and go back to the inspector for a re-check — three businesses, three appointments, usually with a buyer waiting.
In Queensland you have 14 days from the inspection report to get the listed faults fixed and the car re-checked. Inside that window the re-inspection only covers the items on the report. Miss it and you are paying for a completely new inspection.
Having the tyres, the repairs and the inspection in one workshop is not a marketing line — it is the difference between making that 14 days comfortably and not.

Not every review is glowing. A couple come from buyers who expected a safety certificate to be a full mechanical report on a car they were buying. It is not — Queensland Government says so plainly, and the safety certificate page sets out exactly what is and is not covered, because that misunderstanding is worth clearing up before you book rather than after.
In the trade end of Nerang
Lawrence Drive is light-industrial — roller doors, hoists and trade suppliers rather than a polished retail forecourt. Bunnings, TradeTools, Kennards and a smash repairer are all within a few hundred metres.
It is about 400 metres from the Pacific Motorway, with three exits inside a kilometre, and roughly two minutes from Nerang station — so you can drop the car and carry on to Southport, Broadbeach or Brisbane rather than sitting in a waiting room.
